ONLINE WORKSHOP - Starting a Group: The challenge and the wonder (OW51825) - 2.5 contact hours

This didactic and experiential workshop will discuss Modern Analytic techniques that can help create an exciting group and maximize a group's potential as an agent of therapeutic change. Workshop participants will explore topics such as patient selection and preparation, implementing a treatment agreement that facilitates group development, elements to consider in a first group session, and discussing tools for fostering initial connections among members.

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to:

1. Explain the modern analytic approach to preparing patients to enter group therapy.
2. Describe and exhibit how bridging within a new group stimulates group cohesion.
3. Describe the basic elements and therapeutic value of the group agreement.
